On the other hand, The Squirrels failed to leapfrog Nigeria on the Group L table after being held to a draw by Lesotho.

Union Berlin's Taiwo Awoniyi and Terem Moffi's Lorient have been invited by Gernot Rohr and could make their debut in the fixture.

Benin's main man Jodel Dossou who has scored decisive goals for his country will also be on parade for the encounter.

Benin possible starting lineup: Allagbe; Roche, Adenon, Hountondji; Assogba, D'Almeida, Ahlinvi, Imorou; Dossou, Djigla, Mounie

Nigeria possible starting lineup: Okoye; Sanusi, Balogun, Troost Ekong, Aina; Aribo, Ndidi, Etebo; Iwobi, Iheanacho, Simon

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Nigeria and Benin Republic lock horns this weekend as the race to qualify for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon gradually winds down.

Both teams are first and second on the Group L table with the Super Eagles currently topping the log with eight points, one point better than The Squirrels ahead of the matchday five encounter.

However, 2019 bronze-winning coach Gernot Rohr might have made up his mind on the players who will start the game in Porto Novo on Saturday, March 27, having had his last two training sessions behind closed doors.
