Villarreal defender Pau Torres is reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League with Man United this summer.
United are keen on adding a defender within their ranks at the end of the season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to build a strong side that can challenge for titles.
The Old Trafford dwellers have already been linked with a number of world-class centre-backs who can be paired alongside Harry Maguire.
Metro UK reports Torres is among the defenders the Red Devils have shortlisted for the role, with the La Liga-based star understood to be open to such a move.
The publication added the 24-year-old has a €60million release clause attached to him, but Villarreal could consider offloading him for less in a player-plus cash deal.
However, the Old Trafford dwellers must be aware of stiff competition from a several European clubs thought to be monitoring Torres at Villarreal.
Rivals Man City and Real Madrid have both been linked, with the latter said to be looking to keep him in Spain.
United, meanwhile, are also understood to be pursuing the services of Real defender Raphael Varane, who the La Liga side are believed to be ready to offload in the summer should he fail to have his contract renewed.
Varane, a long-term United target has active deal with Los Blancos which will run until 2022.
