England international Andros Townsend has chosen Kevin De Bruyne, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as his best three players.

The Crystal Palace winger snubbed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski despite their huge impact in the game.

Ronaldo scored 37 goals for Juventus in all competitions last season while Messi netted 31 and Lewandowski was on an incredible 55 goals.

Panic as hat-trick hero in PSG's 4-1 win over Catalans threatens to 'kill' Barcelona star if they meet on the streets

"I've got three in my head.
"But it's sad to say because for me, I grew up with Messi and Ronaldo.
"But for me, at the moment, I can't put them in my top three. Sorry. This is why I didn't want to do this.
"I'm going to go three: Kevin de Bruyne. I'm going to go two: Neymar. And at the moment, I'm going to go one: Kylian Mbappe.
"Five or ten years ago, Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi used to absolutely dominate games, control games, take games by the scruff of the neck.
"And now, of course they're in their 30s, they're still hitting incredible numbers, but they're not controlling games as they once were.
"Age just gets everyone."

Mbappe posted a five-star performance against Barcelona in PSG's last 16 Champions League tie played at the Cmp Nou where he scored a hat-trick in their 4-1.

On the other hand, Mbappe's teammate Neymar helped the French side to the Champions League finals last season where they lost to eventual champions Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Lionel Messi helped Barcelona to a 5-1 win over Deportivo Alaves at the Camp Nou as the Argentine equalled Cristiano Ronaldo 573 goals in open play.

The Juventus striker might be the highest goalscorer in the history of football but Messi's brace against the visiting side matched the Portuguese's feat.

The 33-year-old produced a five-star performance and he was also instrumental when he came in as a substitute in Barca's 3-2 win over Real Betis.
