Theophilus Afelokhai who is the goalkeeper of Rivers United has explained that he was the one who helped Super Eagle captain Ahmed Musa to be signed at NPFL giants Kano Pillars.
Ahmed Musa is no doubt one of the best forwards in the world considering what he has achieved in the game of soccer and the clubs he has played for.
The former Leicester City striker actually started his football career in Jos before moving to Kano Pillars in the year 2009 and left the former Nigerian champions in 2012 for Europe.
According to the report on Brila, Afelokhai explained that Ahmed Musa would not have been accepted at Kano Pillars if not for him who made it possible.
“He was with me in Pillars, they brought him as a nobody, I was the captain then, the club refused to sign him but I was able to convince the management to sign him because of the slots given to me to sign four players every season.
''The coach had opined that Musa’s small stature will not fit into his football philosophy, but I insisted that I will leave the club if Musa does not sign for Pillars that year.''
