Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been tipped to make a swift return to football management, barely two weeks after he was dismissed by the Blues.

Lampard was relieved of his duties after a dismal run of results saw Chelsea all but bow out of the title race.

Despite hitting a career low in his fairly young stint as boss, the former Derby county manager could make a swift return to the dugout, albeit via the Championship.

This is because bookies have named him as a heavy favorite to take over at AFC Bournemouth after the sacking of Jason Tindall.

Tindall was dismissed on Wednesday, February 3 after just six months in charge following the Cherries’ shock home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The defeat left Bournemouth sixth in the Championship table, eight points off automatic promotion places and 13 behind league leaders Norwich City.

“We feel a change is needed now to give the club the best possible chance of achieving the goals clearly set out last summer," the club said in a statement.

Lampard already has experience in the Championship as he was boss at Derby county before he was called up for the Chelsea job.

In his very first managerial job, he guided the Rams to the play-off final but failed to secure promotion.

Jonathan Woodgate, who joined the Bournemouth coaching staff recently, is second favorite to take over with 4/1 odds of clinching the job.

Former Cherries boss Eddie Howe is third favorite with 6/1 odds while ex Chelsea captain John Terry, who is currently part of the coaching staff at Aston Villa, is fourth favorite to take over with 10/1 chances.
