- According to Bruno, United's turning point happened after their 1-1 draw with Leicester on Boxing Day
Bruno Fernandes has detailed the moment he knew Man United were favourites to challenge for the Premier League title.
United have enjoyed a significant turn of form that has kept them sitting on the summit of the EPL standings.
The Red Devils edged struggling Fulham on Wednesday night, January 20, to return back to the summit with 40 points, two ahead of rivals Man City and third-placed Leicester.
Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba both found the back of the net in either half of the match to steer United to victory and are now in a pole position to gun for glory.
According to Fernandes, the Red Devils' moment of transformation came after their 1-1 disappointing draw with Leicester on Boxing Day.
The Portuguese noted his teammates were frustrated after conceding late during the clash, with the result giving them a strong sense of satisfaction.
Bruno revealed the mood in the dressing room summed up a changing mentality that has helped them step up their bid to a title.
“After the Leicester game when we drew in the last minute, I was really happy to see the frustration on the team when I got to the dressing room. It was the first time I saw a real frustration after drawing a game," Fernandes said as cited by SunSport.
“I think we have to build on this and more and more be prepared, when we lose one game, to keep going on the same level," he added.
United will be back in Premier League action on Wednesday night, January 27, when they take on relegation-bound Sheffield before entertaining rivals Arsenal at the Emirates three days later.
