Former Liverpool star Dejan Lovren who now plays for Russian Premier League club Zenit Saint Petersburg has explained how tough his former manager Jurgen Klopp could be to his players.
Before leaving the Premier League champions, the Croatia international played 131 games for Liverpool scoring five goals for the Reds and also won the Champions League and EPL.
The 31-year-old explained that there was a day in training in which Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp embarrassed a youngster who came with Mercedes and sporting gold Rolex watch.
Klopp embarrassed the player in front of the entire team by reiterating the talent was carrying himself in a seemingly flashy manner whilst never having made a first-team appearance.
According to the report on caughtoffside, the unnamed player had not played any match for Liverpool and his appearance for training infuriated Klopp.
“I will tell you a short story. In 2017, on the first day of preseason training with Liverpool, one 18-year-old player, I will not name him, came to training in a Mercedes with a gold Rolex on his wrist.
“Yeah, he came in with two gold watches. The next day he arrived without a watch and a normal car.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool are currently occupying fourth position on the Premier League table with 34 points after 18 games played so far.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Georginio Wijnaldum handed Barcelona a huge transfer boost as the midfielder is planning to reject a new Liverpool deal ahead of his move to Spain this year.
The Dutchman will run out of contract with the Premier League defending champions at the end of this season and all effort to persuade him to extend his reign at Anfield look impossible.
As it stands now, the 30-year-old has the liberty to negotiate with any club interested in his services when he leaves Anfield this summer.
Despite helping the Reds to Champions League and Premier League triumphs in successive seasons, Wijnaldum has his eyes set on joining the Catalans and reunited with his former national team boss Ronald Koeman.
