Sergio Romero is on the verge of leaving Man United this January after reportedly saying his goodbye to the club's staff members.
Romero has endured a difficult spell at United in recent months despite being touted as a possible understudy to David de Gea.
The Argentine goalkeeper has spent five years with the Red Devils, often playing second fiddle to De Gea.
He was a mainstay in virtually all cup competitions for United last season, but was left frustrated after he was dropped during his side's Europa League defeat to Sevilla.
He attempted to push for an exit in the summer, only for the Red Devils to block the move.
However, it was the return of Dean Henderson from Sheffield United where he was on loan that spelt doom for Romero, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer freezing him out of the squad entirely.
Having failed to feature for the Old Trafford dwellers since the start of the season, Metro UK reports the keeper is well in line to leave the Premier League side this month with the hope of resuscitating his career.
It is believed the Argentine is optimistic the club will let him go ahead of a possible switch to Boca Juniors.
Despite his relatively turbulent spell in the latter months of his times at United, Romero did have an illustrious career with the side he joined five years.
The 33-year-old was part of the Red Devils' side that won the 2017 Europa League title under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.
He also picked the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and the Community Shield during his time at the club.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Marcos Rojo who currently plays for Manchester United agreed two-year deal with Boca Juniors after being freezing out of the Red Devils' first squad under Ole Solskjaer.
The Argentine footballer has not been having it rosy since Ole Solskjaer became the coach of Manchester United and he is now on the verge of heading back to his country.
Rojo spent the second half of last season on loan with boyhood club Estudiantes after his failure to get active playing time at Old Trafford.
