Italy international Emerson Palmieri who currently plays for Premier League side Chelsea has reportedly emerged as January 2021 transfer target for Serie A giants Napoli.
The 26-year-old defender has been finding it difficult this season to get regular playing time under Chelsea boss Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
Emerson has been playing for Chelsea since 2018 after being signed by former Chelsea coach Sarri and has gotten 30 games so far with the Blues.
The brilliant performances of Marco Alonso at the left-back position have made it difficult for Emerson Palmieri to get regular games for Chelsea in the Premier League.
According to the report on UK Sun, Napoli chiefs are now ready to offer Chelsea mega-deal for them to have Emerson this month.
The report added that Napoli have also promised the Italian player that he will get active games in at Naples if he should agree to move to Italy.
He has made just two appearances for the Blues in the Premier League this season and Emerson remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of next season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have dropped from the top four on the Premier League table and the Blues are now occupying sixth position with 26 points after 16 games played so far.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League giants Chelsea are close to agreeing a mega-million deal with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid over the transfer of defender Marcos Alonso.
The Spaniard has found himself cast aside at Chelsea and on the offloading pile after he infuriated Lampard with some questionable and disrespectful behaviour during the draw against West Brom.
Alonso has not played at all since then despite the Blues missing Ben Chilwell at times, the attack-minded Spaniard is still being ignored by Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
Following a 10-match ban slapped on Kieran Trippier, Atletico Madrid chiefs are looking for a good defender and they see Alonso as a good option.
The 30-year-old still has three more years left on his current contract with Chelsea and the Blues will now prefer to loan him out in January 2021.
