Leicester City failed in their quest to grab all three points when they took on Crystal Palace on Monday, December 28 as Kelechi Iheanacho missed a penalty during the clash.

The Nigerian could not convert his spot-kick as he was denied by goalkeeper Vicente Guaita - and in the 58th minute, Wilfred Zaha fired the hosts ahead.

With about seven minutes left on the clock, John Barnes restored parity for the Foxes with his eight goal of the season to salvage a draw as the hosts bounced back from heavy defeats to Liverpool and Aston Villa with a point.

Had Iheanacho converted the penalty kick in the first half, it would have put the former champions in a good position to claim all three points. After the game, Rodgers said as cited in GOAL:

“I said at half time, it was one you have to let go of. He practised yesterday and hit five out of five, so he was confident, but it is just one of those things."

Iheanacho featured for 72nd minutes in the game before he was replaced by Demarai Gray.

The Nigeria international has made eight league appearances for the Foxes this season and is yet to open his goal account.

However, Super Eagles captain and former Leicester City star Ahmed Musa was spotted at the Jos Stadium to grace the Nigeria Professional Football League game between Plateau United and Kwara United.

The 28-year-old winger who not-too-long ago parted ways with his Saudi Arabian club side on mutual consent is holidaying in his country home in the northern part of Nigeria.

He has been linked with a number of English clubs, however, nothing serious has happened until the transfer window opens a few days from now.

And the former Leicester City attacker took time out to visit one of the ten-match centres as the new season of the local league kicks off on Sunday, December 27.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea have failed to claim all three points at home against Aston Villa on December 28 after the visitors fought hard to claim a point, ending the encounter 1-1.

Frank Lampard's side would have moved to third position on the Premier League standings, but they failed to hold unto their lead.

Olivier Giroud opened the scoring with a spectacular finish in the 34th minute, but the visitors restored parity in the 50th through Anwar El-Ghazi.
