Taiwo Awoniyi helped his side to a famous 2-1 win over one of Bundesliga favourite side Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old headed home from close range to break the deadlock in the 56th minute as his side went ahead by 1-0.
It was then the turn for 16-year-old Dortmund star Youssoufa Moukoko to put his name in the record books of the German league as the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Bundesliga
Muokoko equalized in the 59th minute after he was found in the box by Giovanni Reyna to make in 1-1.
But Union Berlin restored the lead with 12 minutes left to play through Marvin Friedrich which proved to be the winner.
Awoniyi was on the scoresheet in their midweek clash against VFB Stuttgart as both sides settled for a 2-2 draw.
And the Berlin outfit have now moved up to fifth on the log with 21 points, ending their four-match winless run on the domestic scene.
Awoniyi is yet to earn a senior call up from Gernot Rohr to the Super Eagles, but his recent form, the Liverpool loanee could finally get his chance.
He has been loaned out to six clubs including Frankfurt, NEC, Mouscron, Gent, Mainz and Union Berlin.

Since Taiwo Awoniyi moved to Liverpool from Imperial Soccer Academy, the Nigerian star has not been able to play for the Premier League side due to a work permit.
He has been playing on loan elsewhere ever since then with Liverpool also renewing his contract at Anfield.
