Eden Hazard scored his third goal since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea as Los Blancos dispatched Inter Milan by 2-0 at the San Siro.
Rodrygo also recorded his name on the scoresheet to get Madrid's Champions League campaign right back on track.
Los Blancos started the game on a flying start as their first attack into the box resulted in a penalty for the away side.
Nacho Fernades was tripped in the box by Nicolo Barella as Hazard tucked away the resulting spot-kick to make it 1-0 after just five minutes.
Lucas Vasquez's shot hit the woodwork after a well-worked pass set up the Spaniard as Samir Handanovic was ball-watching in the 12th minute.
Madrid should have made 2-0 as Ferland Mendy found himself with the goalkeeper in the box after an interchange with Hazard, but the Frenchman made a poor decision as his cut-back was too heavy for Vasquez.
Things went from bad to worse for Inter as Arturo Vidal was shown a red card after arguing with referee Anthony Taylor because Englishman did not give a penalty.
After checking the VAR, Raphael Varane looked to have had contact with the ball before Vidal kicked the ground.
The Nerazzurri side came out the second period as the stronger but were unable to get a pass through to Real's defence.
Just before the hour mark, substitute Rodrygo made it 2-0 barely a minute before coming on for Mariano Diaz.
Vazquez's perfect-inch cross was slammed home by the young Brazilian but it took a weak deflection from Achraf Hakimi.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted that French defender Raphael Varane will not be leaving the club anytime soon.
The 48-year-old manager sounded the warning to Manchester United and every other club interested in the world cup winner.
Varane's current deal with Los Blancos expires in the summer of 2022 but a few top European outfits are hoping they lure him away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
