Manchester United could complete the signing of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele when the January transfer window opens.
The Red Devils failed in their pursuit to land the Frenchman this summer - an alternative for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.
However, all hope is not lost for the Premier League outfit as the Catalans are still open to offloading the World Cup winner.
The 23-year-old appears to have fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp especially after the arrival of Ronald Koeman.

SunSport reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is however desperate to sign the France international to add depth to his squad.
Sources claim the winger deliberately shunned a move to Camp Nou in a bid to join Italian League giants Juventus.
And that also failed to pull through and the Catalans are furious the ex-Borussia Dortmund speedster did not leave as reported by ESPN.

Barca are said to be hoping to raise funds to sign Lyon star Memphis Depay from the sale of Dembele.
Meanwhile, United are still planning to make a move a £45 million for the attacker next January according to Spanish outlet Sport. Dembele's contract with Barca expires in 2022.
The forward joined Barcelona in 2017 for £132m but his reign at the club has been marred by series of injuries. He made just nine appearances across competitions last campaign.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Ousmane Dembele could complete a deadline day move to Manchester United from Barcelona this window.
The 23-year-old Frenchman appears to have agreed to personal terms with the Red Devils having fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp.
He has made just one appearance under Ronald Koeman so far this campaign after coming on as a substitute for Ansu Fati in the 70th minute.
