AC Milan who are Italian Serie A campaigners have confirmed that star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has contracted the deadly Coronavirus and has been ordered to go into isolation.
The announcement came hours before the AC Milan's Europa League third qualifying round against Norwegian club FK Bodo/Glimt.
Milan added that they have communicated the latest development to the appropriate authorities for important procedures to be taken.
The Italian side added that no other members of the squad have tested positive in the latest round of testing, although defender Leo Duarte did return a positive result and he is on isolation.
Ibrahimovic has scored three goals in Milan's first two games of the term for AC Milan which was to the delight of the club's chiefs and fans.
After leaving LA Galaxy in America last January, Zlatan Ibrahimovic signed a one-year deal with AC Milan and promised to help the side win titles this term.
Milan are currently occupying the fourth position on the Italian Serie A title and they have the mandate to finish among the top four teams this season.
Zlatan has played for clubs like Barcelona, Paris-Saint-Germain, Juventus, Ajax and Inter Milan, but the Swede never won the Champions League.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a new one-year contract with AC Milan after much speculation about leaving the San Siro.
The 38-year-old was rewarded for his impressive spell last campaign and he will earn around £6 million for the entire year.
Ibrahimovic arrived at the San Siro in January after his contract with LA Galaxy expired and he scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 18 league appearances.
Milan finished in sixth position in Serie A winning nine and drawing three in their last 12 games of the 2019-20 campaign.
The former European champions have now made it back to the continental stage where they will be playing in the Europa League next season.
