Chelsea crashed out the Champions League with a 7-1 aggregate scoreline after losing 4-1 to Bayern Munich.

The Blues had already succumbed to a 3-0 loss at Stamford Bridge to the Bundesliga giants back in February before the lockdown.

And they were in for another ruthless Bayern side who are the highest scoring team in the competitions this season.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring from a spot-kick and turned provider for Ivan Perisic who put the game beyond the reach of the west London club.

Tammy Abraham's goal was the only strike Chelsea had in the future as Corentin Tolisso and Lewandowski completed the rout.

The Poland striker took his tally to 13 in this season's competition as Chelsea bowed out of the tournament conceding seven goals over two legs for the first time in their European campaign.

Frank Lampard secured a top-four Premier League finish and the Blues will be back stronger for next season's tournament after making a couple of promising signings.

Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have already joined Chelsea while Kai Havertz is expected to complete his switch in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Bayern Munich vs Chelsea ended 4-1 in favour of the Bavarians and qualified into the quarter finals with 7-1 aggregate scoreline.

Robert Lewandowski grabbed a brace in the match as Ivan Perisic and Corentin Tolisso also got on the scoresheet. Tammy Abraham scored Chelsea's only as they bowed out of the tournament.

Bayern got off and running in the opening ten minutes as Lewandowski beat the offside trap and was brought down in the box by Willy Caballero who was yellow carded.

Legit.ng also reported that Christian Pulisic will have to compete with Man United's trio of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial for the Young Player of the Season Award.

Man City's Raheem Sterling won the 2018-19 accolade following his impressive performances for Pep Guardiola's side that won them the Premier League.

But this year's award have strong contingents that performed excellently well as fans will have to vote for the player who would wear the crown.
