Ajayi produced a solid defensive performance while DR Congo-born Grady Diangana starred for the Baggies with a goal and an assist in the fixture.
The 26-year-old made himself a key player for West Brom in his debut campaign making 43 Championship appearances with five goals to his name.
West Brom finished as second best on the final Championship table with 83 points and they are 10 points behind champions Leeds United who will also be playing in the Premier League next term.
Last two years, Semi Ajayi got his first Super Eagles call-up from coach Gernot Rohr for 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers and was happy with it.
He made his debut for the three-time African champions against Seychelles replacing defender Chidozie Awaziem who got injured in the encounter.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Spanish La Liga giants Sevilla are reportedly interested in the signing of Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem after the end of his loan spell at Leganes.
The 23-year-old Nigerian footballer played for Leganes at the just concluded Spanish La Liga 2019/20 season in which the club relegated to the second division.
But despite the relegation of Leganes from the first division, the Nigerian is rated among the best players for the season considering his superb performances.
Chidozie Awaziem is expected to make a return back to his parent club FC Porto in Portugal so as to join them for the preparation of next season.
