Premier League players not willing to return to training amid COVID-19 fears

Premier League players will reportedly tell their clubs that they do not intend to return to training on Monday, May 18, 2020.
Reports from Sportmail claim players have had conversations with each other and told their managers about resuming in the coming week.
A video conference meeting will be with be held between top English teams in the next few days in a bid to assure players about their safety.

Players will also have the opportunity to talk about their health concerns amid the global pandemic in the meeting before they accept their May 18, training resumption.
Man City's Sergio Aguero, West Ham's Manuel Lanzini and Newcastle's' Danny Rose are among players that have publicly expressed their concerns about returning amid the pandemic.
Teams are not putting pressure on their players to get back to work but there are concerns that not all stars would resume training on May 18.
Speaking on Sky Sports ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said it was inevitable that some players would not want to return to full training.
"That's the biggest dealbreaker, the players. The Premier League need to bring the players with them.
"If the players, en masse, don't want to play, it's going to be very difficult. The majority of players I've spoken to, want to go back. There will always be three or four in every group who are suspicious, and you have to respect that.
"Players' safety is more important than everything - the money, who goes up and who goes down.
"I don't think you're ever going to get everyone on board, the same as the wages, but it's never going to be risk-free until a vaccine comes out.
"So it's when the risk is low enough. They're saying footballers will be some of the safest people in the country if they go back to work."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Premier League's relegation-threatened sides clubs may be forced to back Project Restart after the English FA stepped in to demand the season is decided by 'sporting merit'.
Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich City occupy the 18th, 19th, and 20th position respectively were ready to stand against plans for their remaining matches to be played at neutral venues.
The clubs claim they would lose their home support in their quest to survive the top with nine matches left to finish the 2019-20 campaign.
