Sadio Mane has already made his pick for the Premier League Player of the Season with few games left to play.
The 27-year-old could have picked the runners-up of the 2019 Ballon d'Or Virgil van Dijk but Mane opted for an outfield player.
The Liverpool striker is banking on the award to be given to his teammate and captain Jordan Henderson.
The Senegalese international believes the England midfielder deserves the accolade because of his contributions to the Reds in the 2019-20 Premier League season.
“I would go for Henderson. He’s been a big part of our success this year, both defensively and in attack.”
“He was really good this year. A really good leader and a great captain.”
Henderson lifted the UEFA Super Cup before the start of the season and helped the Reds continue their unbeaten streak in the league until the game against Watford at Vicarage Road.
With nine games left to play, Liverpool need just three wins to ensure they lift the league title for the first time in more than 30 years.
The 29-year-old Englishman has been part and parcel of Jurgen Klopp's record-breaking side in the English topflight division.
The Premier League season has currently been suspended due to the outbreak of the global pandemic.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has boldly claimed he would “understand” if the season was to be voided due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 27-year-old has been instrumental for the Reds this season and his performances helped the Merseyside club establish an unassailable 25-point lead at the Premier League summit.
Prior to the suspension of the league, Liverpool were well on course for their first Premier League title in more than 30 years.
Three weeks into the suspension and there are genuine fears that the league might not be able to resume within the stipulated time as it was initially estimated the COVID-19 crisis would be managed by at least April 30.
Legit.ng also reported that Sadio Mane has released his own film where he talked about his rise to stardom in the beautiful game of football.
'Made in Senegal' is a documentary that focused on the humbling beginnings of the Liverpool forward and the sacrifices he made in becoming a professional footballer.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp also featured in a segment of the film explaining the exceptional talent of the Senegalese striker.
