Nigeria international Emmanuel Dennis is one of the fastest growing football stars in the world considering his performances so far this season for Belgian side Club Brugge.
The 22-year-old started his football career on the streets of Ilorin in Kwara state before he joined the Kwara Football Academy when former Super Eagles coach Clemens Westerhof was the director.
Dennis was among the Kwara Football Academy team that was taken to Italy in 2009 for friendly games where they spent two weeks.
The likes of former Warri Wolves star Lordson Ichull, goalkeeper Jonah Usman, Gbenga Arokoyo, Kadiri Aminu, Idiamin, Stone Ebuowan were all teammates to Dennis at KFA before he left the side for Football College in Abuja.
It was when he got to Football College in Abuja that his career began to shine after traveling to Europe with the academy to play some games.
And in July 2016, Emmanuel Dennis moved to Europe signing his first professional contract with Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk.
Dennis spent only a year in Ukraine before moving to Belgium where he has been playing for Club Brugge since 2017.
Some Premier League clubs wanted to sign Dennis before the January transfer window closed, but Club Brugge refused to sell.
And since he got to Belgium, his performances has been superb for Club Brugge most especially when he scored a brace against Real Madrid in October 2019 in a game that ended 2-2.
On Thursday, February 20, Emmanuel Dennis and his teammates played against Manchester United in the Europa League in a game which ended 1-1 in which the Nigerian scored.
He met his fellow Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo who is playing for Manchester United and Dennis expressed happiness meeting the former Watford striker.
''It was the first time to see Odion Ighalo and it was good to see him as we spoke in the Nigerian way after the match and it was nice meeting a Nigerian brother. I always feel comfortable meeting a Nigerian brother,'' Dennis explained.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United will take a slight advantage to Old Trafford in the Europa League after coming from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Club Brugge in their Europa League.
The hosts, who were relegated to the second tier of Europe’s elite competition in December, took a deserved lead when Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis took advantage of a defensive mix up to lob the ball past a stranded Sergio Romero who found himself in no man’s land.
