The world of wrestling is mourning the passing of a legendary wrestler.

"Outlaw" Ron Bass (Ronald Heard) died on Tuesday, March 7, at the of age 68.
Bass made a name for himself in the late 70s and early 80s for flamboyant wrestling style.

His gimmick was a Texan cowboy who made his entrance to the sound of a bull-whip during his 3-year tenure with WWF now known as WWE from 1987-89.
Before that Bass spent over a decade working for the National Wrestling Alliance from 1975-87.

After his wrestling career came to an end, Bass earned his bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University and started to work as a sales representative for a construction supply company in Florida.
Bass participated in the very first Royal Rumble and the 20-man battle royal at WrestleMania IV and co-captained a Survivor Series team with The Honky Tonk Man.
Bass is reported to have died after being hospitalised for a burst appendix.
