Viral Video of Iwobi Doing 'Palliative Dance' After Scoring in Everton’s 2–1 Win Over Huddersfield in EFL Cup

Super Eagles attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi stunned the crowd with his dance while celebrating his goal in Everton’s 2-1 win over Huddersfield, the Eagle reports.

The Nigerian star helped his side overcome their hosts despite being one-man down at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Alex Iwobi scored his first goal of the season against Huddersfield in the EFL Cup, and pulled off the 'palliative dance' with Moise Kean who was later shown a red card.

Iwobi opened the scoring in the 26th minute while Tom Lees drew level on the stroke of half-time, and then Andros Townsend grabbed the winner eleven minutes from time.

However, the entire social media space was agog with the celebration that followed Iwobi’s strike in the first half as sighted on Instagram.

The Nigerian did the ‘palliative dance’ which originated from Nigerian music star Zlatan Ibile, as the moves could also be called ‘chop am like palliative’.

It became famous during the #ENDSARS protests which shook Nigeria when people broke into warehouses looking for stores with palliatives.

This dance step was also used to push Zlatan's song ‘Lagos Anthem’.

Benitez praises Everton stars

Earlier, Alex Iwobi and his Everton teammates received plaudits from new manager Rafa Benitez after the club recorded a 1-0 win over Mexican side Puma UNAM at the Florida Cup.

The Toffees recorded their second win in that tournament following the win over Colombian side Millionarios on penalties after playing a 1-1 draw at full time to emerge winners of the four-team tourney.

After the game, manager Rafa Benitez was impressed with his team's so far since taking over from Carlo Ancelotti this summer.

Asisat Oshoala spotted twerking

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Super Falcons and Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala will have to take her twerking lessons more seriously as she was seen showing off her amateurish dancing skill in the United States.

The 26-year-old attacker was in the company of a few of her national team colleagues during her trip to the country.

Oshoala was first spotted embracing one of the ladies in the short clip she posted on her Instagram story before participating in the twerking competition.
