Raheem Lawal has accused former Super Eagles assistant coach Daniel Amokachi of denying him a chance to be part of the team that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Super Eagles were superb in 2013 under late coach Stephen Keshi as they won the African Cup of nations for the third time beating Burkina Faso 1-0 with Sunday Mba netting the goal.

In an Instagram post made available by Raheem Lawal, the 31-year-old explained that he should have made the final list of team that traveled to South Africa stressing that Daniel Amokachi dropped him.

Raheem Lawal also alleged that Daniel Amokachi dropped him from the Super Eagles' final list to 2013 African Cup of Nations because of the players he wanted to sell.

He also accused Ike Shorunmu for not standing up to defend him when he was dropped from the Super Eagles squad by Daniel Amokachi.

''Amokachi you denied me the MON title in 2013 AFCON. I still got the pain in my heart forever.
“Amokachi you dropped me last minute of 2013 AFCON because you want (sic) to sell some players to Super Eagles.
“But remember that your children have started playing football. Keep resting in peace big boss Keshi.''

Raheem Lawal made his international debut for the Super Eagles in 2012 and has played four games so far for the three-time African champions.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how it was a star-studded relaxation as Super Eagles legend Austin Okocha was spotted alongside ex-teammates Nwankwo Kanu and Daniel Amokachi in a lounge.

Ex-internationals Tijani Babangida, as well as Austin Eguavoen, were seen in the video as they look to be ‘cooking up something’ from their discussion.

They were all part of the Nigerian squad that prosecuted the 1994 World Cup in the USA for the Super Eagles, a team that is still referred to as the Golden Generation.

Prior to the showpiece, the players were part of the Super Eagles squad that conquered the African continent winning the AFCON title in Tunisia that same year.

And only recently, Jo Bonfrere was seen alongside ex-Super Eagles stars in a pose with the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
