Nigerian Coach Who Was at FIFA World Cup 4 Times Dies After Battle Against Heartbreaking Disease

- Nigeria's SuperSand Eagles coach Audu Adamu is dead after battle against diabetes

Football fraternities in Nigeria and many parts of the world were on Saturday night, May 22, thrown into serious mourning following the untimely death of SuperSand Eagles coach Audu Adamu Ejo.

Audu Adamu was hired as the coach of the SuperSand Eagles in 2009 by the Nigerian Football Federation and led the country to four Beach Soccer World Cup tournaments, and Copa Lagos success three times.

According to the report Legit.ng gathered from his close friend Barrister Malik Babanawa who is the Vice Chairman of Kogi United, he stated clearly that the deceased battled with diabetes before he died.

''It is unfortunate that Coach Ejo is no more and what pained me the most is that we spoke three hours before his death and I told him that I will contact other friends for us to contribute for his treatment.
''His sickness was so serious and it is sad that Adamu lost the battle against diabetes.''

Legit.ng also spoke with Isiaka Olawale who was the Captain of the Nigeria's SuperSand Eagles for 10 years under Coach Audu Adamu Ejo and he described the deceased as a man of honour.

''I am still in shock to hear that my coach is dead and despite what he went through in football, Coach Ejo did not enjoy much in the game.
''I want to beg those in charge of football in Nigeria to please do something for his family because Coach Ejo really served this nation during his lifetime.''

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Football Federation have also condoled with the family of the deceased as they prayed for God to give him eternal rest.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Sikiratu who is the mother of late former Super Eagles striker Rashidi Yekini stated clearly that she is still feeling the pains the death of her son brought to her nine years after his demise.

Nine years ago, the whole Nigerian football fraternities were thrown into deep mourning following the shocking death of Rashidi Yekini who died in Ibadan, Oyo state.

There were serious controversies surrounding the death of the former Nigerian striker considering how he was taken to an unknown place by some of his family members.
