Tijani Babangida claims he should have been part of the Super Eagles squad that represented Nigeria the Nation Cup in Tunisia and the World Cup in 1994 respectively, Complete Sports.

The former Ajax winger believed his exclusion from those teams in the tournaments was masterminded by former technical adviser Clemence Westerhof.

Nigeria emerged victorious at the 1994 AFCON and produced their best performance ever at a World Cup tournament in the United states.

However, Babangida was part of the Dream Team squad that won Africa's first gold medal at the Atlanta 96' Olympic games.

The former Roda JC winger revealed that it was because he refused Westerhof to manage him as a player caused his omission.

He was quoted by Punch saying:

“I was too good to be left out of the squads to the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup in the US,” Babangida said during a media parley.
“I had issues with the coach (Westerhof), who wanted to manage me and I disagreed.
“With my pace then I would have helped the Eagles. It was very painful to be left out of the team to those tournaments in 1994 because I knew I deserved to be in that team.
“When Emmanuel Amuneke and Daniel Amokachi were injured against Italy, my pace would have been helpful to the team if I was included.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Victor Osimhen has showed his compassionate side after gifting a Nigerian man a sewing machine to help cater for his family.

The Super Eagles forward who has been on good scoring form for his Serie A side Napoli yielded to the plea of the unknown person.

As stated on Twitter the man said:

"Touch my life Mr Victor, i need no silver or gold, all i seek for is a sewing machine to help put food on my table."
