Super Eagles legend John Obi Mikel is a proud father after his twin daughters got certificates of award for outstanding performances in school in the United Kingdom.

The former Chelsea midfielder took to his Instagram story to upload the two certificates his daughters got from their school claiming that he is happy with the achievement.

Since the day John Obi Mikel was blessed with the twins, the Nigerian footballer has always being proud of his kids considering how he engage them on social media.

It would be recalled that Mikel Obi also posted photo of his daughters when they started school even though the Nigerian was playing in the Chinese Super League then.

Mikel Obi retired from the Super Eagles after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where Nigeria finished as third best.

He was among the Super Eagles players who won the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa under late former coach Stephen Keshi.

Before retiring from the Super Eagles, Mikel Obi played 91 games for Nigeria netting six goals for the three-time African champions.

He also played for Nigeria's Olympics Football team.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani enjoined ex-Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel to move to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) before hanging his boots from football.

Shehu Sani expressed happiness to see Ahmed Musa making a return to the Nigerian League after years in Europe as he will be playing for former NPFL champions Kano Pillars.

Former Leicester City star Ahmed Musa had to return to Kano Pillars following his inability to secure a deal with an European club during the transfer window.

While speaking on his official social media page, Shehu Sani explained that Mikel Obi should also think about playing in the Nigerian topflight.

There is no doubt about the fact that Mikel Obi is the most decorated Nigerian player in history thanks to all the titles he won while playing in the Premier League with Chelsea.

From 2006-2017, Mikel Obi played 249 games for Chelsea netting one goal winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League with the Blues.
