Llorente cancels Mane's goal as Leeds United hold Liverpool to a Premier League draw

Liverpool missed out on a chance to displace West Ham United and Chelsea to move into the fouth position on the Premier League standings.

Jurgen Klopp's side played a 1-1 with Leeds United away from home on Monday night, April 19 to set up a tantalising last six matches in the English topflight.

But the Reds needed to battle so hard against the Peacocks at Elland Road to improve their chances of finishing in top four.

As early as the 4th minute, Thiago Alcantara beat Kalvin Phillips with a wiggle of the hip and cracked a swirling drive from 25 yards.

It was straight down the middle and Meslier leapt to tip it over, an acrobatic but essentially straightforward save.

And in the 13th minute, the hosts came close when Bamford dragged Harrison’s free-kick wide of goal from 12 yards. It wouldn’t have counted anyway; he was offside.

A dangerous low cross from Harrison in the 23rd minute was sliced wide of his own goal by Kabak, under pressure from Bamford.

In the end he did pretty well, as that could easily have been an own goal. The corner was headed away by Firmino.

In the 31st minute, Sadio Mane broke the deadlock in style ending his goal-drought.

Diogo Jota drove an excellent angled pass to find Alexander-Arnold, who got away from his marker Harrison.

Meslier came out to the edge of the area so Alexander-Arnold poked the ball square to give Mane an open goal. 0-1 Liverpool.

And in the 88th minute, Harrison’s superb inswinging corner was headed in from six yards by Llorente; it’s his first goal for Leeds. That was a brilliant ball in from Harrison. 1-1.

Both teams came out blazing in the closing stages, but somehow they could not find the back of the net yet again. It ended; Leeds United 1-1 Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Hansi Flick will leave his position as Bayern Munich boss after spending just 18 months at the club.

The 56-year-old won six trophies during his short spell with the Bavarians including last season's Budnesliga, German Cup and the Champions League titles.

It is understood that the German gaffer fell out with the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic on several occasion over last summer's transfer dealings.
