Rio Ferdinand has stated emphatically that he wished his former club had signed Gabonese striker Aubameyang before he joined rivals Arsenal.
Although the former Borussia Dortmund striker presently not having it rosy at the Emirates stadium, but Aubameyang was impressive last season for the Gunners.
He scored 22 Premier League goals in his first two full seasons with the Gunners though has found the net just three times this term which has put Mikel Arteta under pressure.
According to the report on Daily Star, Rio Ferdinand who was one of the best defenders in the Premier League during his days explained that Manchester United should have signed Aubameyang.

“That is the biggest thing for Mikel Arteta, the biggest thing Arteta needs to do right now is to get him playing again.
“I love Aubameyang, I think he is an unbelievable player who I would love in my team.
“I would have loved Manchester United to buy him before he went to Arsenal, I think he’s a top, top player and a ridiculous finisher.''
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently occupying 11th position on the Premier League table with 23 points after 17 games played so far.
The Gunners will be facing Newcastle United in their next game which will be in the FA third round at the Emirates stadium on Saturday, January 9.
Mikel Arteta will be hopping his players improve their game in the FA Cup which they won last season.

According to the report, Sead Kolasinac will decide whether to stay permanently at Schalke at the end of the season or make a return to the Emirates stadium.
