Gary Neville has singled out three Chelsea players who he believes were responsible for the Blues' 3-1 defeat to Man City.
City put the game to bed in the first half of the Sunday evening, January 3, league meeting to condemn the Frank Lampard-tutored side to their fourth defeat in six matches.
Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne all found the back of the net in the first half to bury the game.
It was the introduction of Callum Hudson-Odoi that made a significant change, with the Englishman scoring his side's consolation at the dearth.
Neville has now claimed Chelsea's midfielders are to blame for failing to take control of the tie and allowing City to dominate.
The Man United legend was quick to note deficiencies in defence that included Ben Chilwell and Azpilicueta, but insisted the midfield needed to take blame for the result.
“I have to say the midfield of Kante, Mount and Kovacic have been nowhere near good enough,” Neville told Sky Sports as cited by Mirror UK.
“It’s been nowhere near good enough in this last 20 minutes. They’ve allowed Manchester City to get a real grip in this game," he added.
The west Londoners are now scheduled to battle struggling Fulham in their next league match set for Friday, January 15.
However, before then, they will have to contend with a third round FA Cup meeting with lowly ranked Morecambe on Sunday, January 10.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester City’s Eric Garcia has reportedly decided to reject contract extension at the Premier League club in his bid to return to Catalan club Barcelona.

Latest reports have it that the 19-year-old has agreed personal terms with his former club to confirm Pep Guardiola’s earlier statement that the player does not want to continue with the Citizens.
The City manager had hoped he would be able to convince the player to rescind his decision, but seems Garcia’s mind is already made up.
