Manchester United produced a four-star performance to beat Istanbul Basaksehir 4-1 in their Champions League matchday four fixture.

The Red Devils didn't waste any time as they took the lead in the seventh minute through a thunder from the Portuguese midfielder.

He was in a perfect place to launch an unstoppable shot from the edge of the 18-yard box after the Turkish side tried averting danger from a corner kick.

And his effort went past over 15 players straight into the net as the home team ensured they got the game started on an enterprising note.

The 26-year-old then doubled United's lead in the 19th minute after taping into the net from close range from Mert Gunok's mistake.

Again, the attacker was in the right place to take advantage of the loose ball after Radamel Falcao had tried confusing the goalkeeper by making attempt to head home a cross from the left flank.

Fernandes carefully put the ball into the back of the net as the home team increased their tally before the half-hour mark.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men continued their attacking display as they hope to seal the game early enough and avoid any late minute drama.

And this led Marcus Rashford to increase their tally to three unreplied goals as early as the 35th minute through a penalty.

The Englishman had won the spot-kick after he was fouled in the danger zone while making efforts to put his name on the scores sheet.

After the referee pointed to the spot, the forward carefully made his run before sending the goalkeeper the wrong direction with just about 10 minutes left to play in the opening half.

However, that was about all the action in the first 45 minutes as both sides headed for the dressing room to regroup for the remaining half.

Deniz Turuc reduced his side's deficit in the 75th minute after powering a superb freekick into David De Gea's net.

Although the Spaniard tried saving the ball from entering his net, the goal-line technology was in line to confirm the goal.

And just moments before the final whistle, second-half substitute Daniel James recorded his name on the scores sheet with a simple but fine finish in the 92nd minute.

The winger had spotted Mason Greenwood running down the flank with the ball when he also ran into space and benefited from his teammate's low but precise cross which sealed the win for United.

This victory also gave the Red Devils sweet revenge on their visitors having already lost the reverse fixture 2-1 earlier this month.
