Guirane N'Daw: Senegalese footballer finally admits he lied about his age

Former Senegalese international Guirane N'Daw has admitted that he had to reduce his age in a bid to play professional football in Europe.
The former Saint-Etienne defensive midfielder claimed that about 99 percent of footballers in his home country have reduced their age before registering for football professional career.
The ex-Birmingham of England and Real Zaragoza of Spain player also played spent six years at Ligue 2 club Sochaus after joining them in 2002 before he moved to Nantes.

N’Daw who announced his retirement with the Teranga Lions in 2016 at the age of ‘31’ currently plays for AS Algrange in the French sixth division.
"What is certain is that in Senegal, 99 percent of players have reduced their age," he told IGFM via Kick Off.
"Like all Senegalese, I lowered my age to be professional. In Africa, the player who does not lower his age cannot be professional (in Europe), it's a reality."

N'Daw spent the majority of his career in France with some well-known teams.
Recall that in 2019, ten Benin youth players from the Under-17 squad were handed prison sentences for age cheating.
The team was disqualified from regional qualifiers for the 2019 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament back in September, in Niamey, Niger.
According to BBC, the players involved were given six-month prison sentences with five months suspended because they have been in jail since returning from Niger.
The players and officials managing the team were found guilty of lying about the footballers' ages after they failed Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) tests.
Legit.ng earlier reported that former Liverpool defender Jon Otsemobor has explained how his ex-team-mate at Anfield El Hadji Diouf stormed his house around 2am with 10 women ready for party.
The retired English footballer claimed that he was shocked when the Senegalese appeared in his house then without even calling or informing him earlier.
While speaking on the issue, Jon Otsemobor stated that he was so surprised with such act considering the fact that they would train in the morning of that day.
But the former African footballer of the year was nonchalant about the training coming as his main priority was to enjoy his night.
