Odion Ighalo: Man United secure loan extension for Nigerian star until January 2021

Manchester United have confirmed that Nigeria international Odion Ighalo will remain at the club until January 2021.
The 30-year-old joined the Red Devils earlier this year from Shanghai Shenhua for an initial six months loan deal earlier this year.
However, the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic meant the league would be extended following the suspension of football across the globe for over eight weeks.
The Red Devils have now successfully extended the former Super Eagles' star's star at Old Trafford for another six months.

A statement from the club reads: "Manchester United have reached an agreement with Shanghai Greenland Shenhua to extend the loan deal for Odion Ighalo.
"The Nigerian striker's stay was initially due to end on 31 May but he will now remain with the Reds until 31 January 2021."
"Ighalo's tally of four goals in eight appearances so far includes at least one strike in each of his three starts - against Club Brugge, Derby County (2) and LASK.
After joining the club on transfer deadline day, Ighalo got his reign started on a bright note - scoring four goals and one assist in eight appearances across competitions.

Meanwhile, his current deal with the Chinese club runs out in 2022 but will be expected to put pen to paper for a new two-year contract which will see him earn about £400,000 a week.
His recent agreement to stay back at United means he will miss most part of the Chinese Super League which is scheduled to begin in June.
