Ali Jeje's mother gets palliative from Sports Minister 13 years after son's death

- Ali Jeje's mother has been given palliative by the Sports Minister Sunday Dare

- The Minister sent ex international Sam Pam to her house in Jos for delivery

- Jeje Ibrahim played for Nigeria during the 80s and died 13 years ago

Nigeria's Sports Minister Sunday Dare has continued with his good gesture of honoring mothers of late sports personalities after sending money and palliative to Ali Jeje Ibrahim's mum.

Ali Jeje Ibrahim was one of the best midfielders in Nigeria then during the 80s and played all his football career in the country's professional League.

It was Ali Jeje Ibrahim who captained Nigeria to the World Youth Championship in Mexico 37 years ago where the West African nation failed to win the tournament.

That same year which was 1983, Ali Jeje Ibrahim also led Nigeria to the African Youth Championship which they won.

In November 2007, there was news of Ali Jeje been rushed to the hospital in Jos after complaining of serious headache and fever and was discharged three days later.

He eventually died one month later which was December 2007 and his death brought great shock to all Nigerian footballer fraternities.

The Sports Minister who was represented by ex international Sam Pam Adamu met Hajia Khadijah Inua Ali at her residence in Jos, Plateau state where money was given to her.

She was glad with the message from the Sports Minister and appreciated him for remembering her at the period when the nation is down financially.

''May God bless the Minister, Mr. Sunday Dare, and the government for remembering me. That means my son did not labour in vain. God will reward the Minister for his kindness,” Hajia Ali explained.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth development under Minister Sunday Dare has extended his hands of generosity to the mother of late Super Eagles star Samuel Okwaraji by sending food items and cash of N50,000 to her.

This comes days after mother of Rashidi Yekini got the same amount of money from the Ministry of Sports in which she was also placed on N10,000 monthly as stipend.

There have been news that Samuel Okwaraji's mother has been down since the shocking death of her son 31 years year ago and she has not yet recover from the shock of losing her son.

Okwaraji died on August 12th, 1989 while playing for Nigeria during a World Cup qualification match against Angola at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
