Real Betis vs Real Madrid ended 2-1 in favor the home side as LosMerengues surrender at the top of La Liga to Barcelona.

Karim Benzema scored a penalty cancel out Sidnei's striker but substitute Cristian Tello got the match-winner.

The Santiago Bernabeu outfit are now two points behind Barca despite their famous El Clasico win over their rivals last weekend.

Los Blancos had Thibaut Courtois to thank after making a superb save from a Nabil Fekhir's thunderbolt.

But the home side took the lead through Sidnei after appeals for a penalty distracted Madrid players but the center-back pounced on a shot to make it 1-0 in the 40th minute.

Right on the stroke of half time, Marcelo won a penalty for Real as Sidnei caught his heels. Benzema converted the resulting spot-kick to make it 1-1.

Betis came out stronger in the second period and almost restored their lead through Joaquin but a goal-line clearance from Luka Modric saved Madrid's blushes.

Zinedine Zidane made several changes that would later cost his side in the match with Marcelo, Toni Kroos and Modric all substituted.

With eight minutes left to play, Benzema made a faulty pass to Sergio Ramos as Andres Guadardo stole the ball to put Tello through who made it 2-1 with a classy finish.

Real Madrid could not fight back into the match as Real Betis claimed all three points.
