It was a memorable night for the Nigerian duo of Victor Osimhen and Odion Ighalo as they both reunited in Belgium during Manchester United's first leg of Europa League encounter against Belgian Pro League leaders Club Brugge.

The Old Trafford outfits visited the Belgians at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Thursday night, February 20, but they failed to cruise to a victory as the tough tie ended in a thrilling 1-1 stalemate.

Emmanuel Bonaventure had handed the hosts a beautiful early lead via a 15th-minute strike, having taken a bold use of a defensive mix up to lob the ball past a stranded Sergio Romero.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who enjoyed a larger chunk of possession in the first half, finally broke the deadlock through Anthony Martial who calmly slotted the ball home in the 36th minute.

Man United introduced deadline day signing Odion Ighalo in the 67th minute for his second appearance for the Red Devils off the bench but the Nigerian could not find a winner for his side.

Before the game, Victor Osimhen who seemed to have travelled all the way from France walked to his brother Odion Ighalo and took some pictures with him.

The sensational Lille striker posed with the 30-year-old AFCON 2019 Golden boot winner with his Man United shirt.

He would later go on to brag about the beautiful encounter, saying: “I’m the first Nigerian to get Ighalo’s Man United shirt.”

Ighalo joined Man United during the January transfer market in a deal that enthusiastically pulled the storm across the world.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Nigeria's two goals hero against Lesotho in Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier Victor Osimhen has rubbished his comparison with Odion Ighalo.

The 20-year-old scored two second-half goals to help the Super Eagles come from behind to beat the Crocodiles 4-2 at the Setsoto Stadium.

He admitted that what Ighalo has done for Nigeria's Super Eagles team is beyond what he could be compared with.
