Marcos Rojo seals loan move to Argentine club Estudiantes from Man United

Marcos Rojo has returned to Estudiantes in Argentina on a six-month loan move from Man United.

The 29-year-old who has been linked with a move out of Old Trafford finally sealed the deal back to his homeland.

Rojo almost signed for Everton in 2019 but the deal fell through and decided to stay with the Red Devils for this season.

The Argentine defender made just nine appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2019-20 campaign.

Following his move to Estudiantes, the club has finally announced saying: “You always return to the places where you were happy. Because of the sense of belonging, it's stronger.

Solskjaer had earlier suggested that Rojo would not be sold in the winter window, as he remains under contract at old Trafford until 2021.

Rojo was in attendance for the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium, taking his place among the fans during the 1-0 victory.

He made 43 appearances for Estudiantes between 2008 and 2011, before moving to Europe to play for Russian giants Spartak Moscow.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Mohamed Salah scored his 66th goal for Liverpool after converting a spot-kick in the 2-0 win against West Ham.

The Egyptian striker is now the club's top scorer this season with 16 goals, 12 in the Premier League and four in Europe's elite competition.
