Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family, friends and fans of former Super Falcons striker Ifeanyi Chiejine who died recently.
The death of the 36-year-old former Confluence Queens of Lokoja star came as a huge shock to all Nigerian football lovers considering her age and achievements.
She was the youngest female player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup when she made her debut in 1999 at the age of 16.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adeshina, President Buhari prayed that God should give the family of Ifeanyi the fortitude to bear the loss.

President Buhari also commended Ifeanyi's patriotism in playing for the country at three World Cup tournaments and two Olympic finals.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) announced the shocking demise of former Super Falcons forward Ifeanyi Chiejine who died after a brief illness.
According to the statement by the Nigeria's Football governing body, the former striker died on Wednesday, August 21.
