Stay Focused and not be distracted by challenges, Chief Olowodola Admonished Gov Ododo

In a remarkable display of commitment and humility, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State defied heavy rainfall on Tuesday to visit Okun elder statesman, Chief Benjamin Olowodola, at his residence in Abuja.

Despite the adverse weather conditions, the Governor, accompanied by his entourage, made the journey to honour Chief Olowodola. During the visit, Governor Ododo expressed his deep appreciation for the elder’s significant contributions to the educational and political advancement of Kogi State.

The Governor emphasized the importance of recognizing the fatherly roles played by Chief Olowodola and other renowned elders in the state, noting that their wealth of experience and support are crucial to Kogi's continued growth and development. "I am here to thank you for your prayers, your political and educational efforts in the advancement of our people, and for standing for the betterment of the state," he said. "We will continue to work tirelessly to put Kogi State on a path of secure, economic, and educational progress."

Governor Ododo assured Chief Olowodola that his administration is fully committed to improving the lives of Kogi residents, stating, "We are in government to serve the people and make life more meaningful. Our determination to use governance as a tool for development, driven by the people's interest, remains resolute."

In response, Chief Olowodola praised the Governor for his determination to visit despite the weather and commended his administration for the positive developments witnessed across the state in the last eight months. He noted that the Governor's efforts have resulted in peace, unity, and tangible progress in areas such as infrastructure, education, and civil servant welfare.

“I want to state that in the last eight months of your tenure, we have seen a consistent and unbiased turnaround in the state’s development,” Chief Olowodola remarked, applauding the Governor for ending the percentage payment of salaries and ensuring the full payment to civil servants at both the state and local government levels.

Chief Olowodola also advised Governor Ododo to sustain the current momentum, urging him to stay focused and not be distracted by challenges. He called on well-meaning Kogites to collaborate with the Governor to ensure that Kogi State achieves an enviable position among Nigerian states.

The visit concluded with prayers for the Governor’s continued success, as Chief Olowodola wished him divine guidance, wisdom, and knowledge as he leads the state.
