FCT, Abuja - The immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has said he has decided to exit active politics.
As reported on Saturday, December 16, by Daily Trust, Adamu noted that he is beginning to develop an allergy to political activities.
Abdullahi Adamu 'quits' politics
The former APC national chairman disclosed this at the launch of a book titled ‘Progressive Governance, Showcasing The Achievements of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state 2019 – 2023’, written by Abdullahi Tanimu.
Adamu was quoted to have said:
“I am not only a retiree but I am out of politics. I’m beginning to develop little allergies for political activities now and political speeches. So, forgive me, I will not make any political statement beyond asking for more support for the governor of the state."
Adamu bows to pressure
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a report noted the resignation of Senator Adamu as the national chairman of the APC.
The Nasarawa politician tendered his resignation on Sunday night, July 16.

Legit.ng also reported that the national working committee (NWC) of the APC announced the resignation of Adamu.
The then-acting national chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari, who confirmed Adamu’s resignation, said the national secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, also stepped down.
"Adamu owing me money": Bwala
In another related news, Legit.ng reported that Barrister Daniel Bwala, an ally of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the February 25 presidential election, alleged that Adamu owed him some professional fee.
Bwala was a member of the ruling APC before moving to the PDP when the ruling party introduced the Muslim-Muslim ticket of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and vice president Kashim Shettima.
