The president gave this directive at the maiden meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) of Tinubu’s administration held at the Presidential Villa on Monday, August 28. All the recently sworn-in ministers were present at the meeting.

In his opening address, President Tinubu congratulated the ministers and urged them to see their appointments as a call to serve the people, PM News reported.

What Tinubu expects from members of his cabinet

Speaking further, Tinubu noted that Nigerians expect a lot from the cabinet, and he 'the president' will be the bus driver while the 'ministers' will be the conductors.

The president reiterated that members of his cabinet have the opportunity to come up with homegrown solutions and re-engineering processes that will lead to the availability of resources and make the economy work for the people, The Nigerian Tribune reported.

“We have to make sure that this country succeeds for 200 million. I accepted the mandate and i have delegated the power to you to serve the country.

Tinubu presided over the first Federal Executive Council meeting of his administration at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.

The new cabinet members were inaugurated on Monday, August 21, after their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate, The Punch reported.

The new cabinet is made of 45 ministers who scaled through the screening while three other nominees were denied clearance.
