FCT, Abuja - President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, July 11, urged the Senate to confirm his nominees for appointment as service chiefs.
Tinubu’s letter of request was read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on the floor during plenary.
Full list of service chiefs up for confirmation
The service chiefs for screening and confirmation by the Senate include Major General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff; Major Taoreed Lagbaja as Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla as Chief of Naval Staff, and Air Vice Marshall Hassan Abubakar as Chief of Air Staff, The Nation reported.

Akpabio said since the relevant standing committees of the Senate are not in place yet, the service chiefs would be screened by the committee of the whole Senate.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, June 19, appointed new military service chiefs after the sack of previous leaders.
The unprecedented shake-up also caused the retirement of over a hundred military generals.
Rahman, Abdulaziz, Masari and 17 new aides appointed by Tinubu
In another development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed 20 new aides to work with him for the next four years.
This list comprises top professionals with highly rated portfolios across various sectors of the economy.
Big names like Tunde Rahman, O'tega Ogra, Ibrahim Masari, and Abdulaziz Abdulaziz made up the 20-man list.

Similarly, President Bola Tinubu announced two fresh appointees to the list of appointments he had made barely two months since he assumed office.
Jubril Gawat, the former aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, disclosed that President Tinubu appointed Olusegun Dada as special assistant on social media.
Bashir Ahmed, the former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, also disclosed that President Tinubu appointed Abdulaziz Abdulaziz as the special assistant on print media.
