Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State on Wednesday, May 31st, confirmed the appointment of four commissioners.
Fubara sworn in four commissioners to constitute his cabinet two days after assuming office and taking the oath to serve the people as the governor of Rivers state.
Fubara tasks new commissioners
The governor charged them to see their appointments as an opportunity for patriotism and offer selfless service to the state, Daily Trust reported.

The commissioners are;
- Prof Zacheous Adango (Justice),
- Dr Alabo George Kelly (Works),
- Prof. Chinedu Mmom (Education) and Barr Isaac Kamalu (Finance).
They were sworn in at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.
The new governor had forwarded the names of the commissioners, who served under the administration of ex-Governor Nyesom Wike, to the Rivers House of Assembly, on Tuesday, May 31st.
Other commissioners were sworn in by Fubara on May 31st
Also sworn in were the new Head of Rivers State Civil Service, Dr George Nweke, whose appointment the governor described as strictly on merit, and a member of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission RSIEC, Ibierembo Thompson.
The governor confirmed the development through a post shared on his Facebook page accompanied by pictures of the development.
"Rivers State is a Christian State": Wike's successor declares
Siminalayi Fubara, the newly sworn-in governor of Rivers State, has declared that the south-south state is a Christian state and that it would be governed by Christian ethics and values.
Fubara, who was the 7th governor of Rivers state, was the anointed candidate of the immediate past governor Nyesom Wike in the March 18 governorship election and emerged through the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor, who was sworn in on Monday, May 29, took to his Twitter page on Wednesday, May 31, to make the declaration and noted that "God is our foundation."
Court reveals how PDP can suspend or expel former Governor Wike
A federal high court in Abuja, on Wednesday, May 31, told the former Governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike, that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has the right to suspend or expel him.
The court said the PDP can sanction former governor Wike if the action is done in accordance with the law.
Justice James Omotosho stated this in a judgment he delivered on a suit filed by Wike to seek for a court order to stop PDP from taking action against him.
