FCT, Abuja - The 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been concluded, with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, declared the winner.

Professor Mahmud Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, declared Tinubu, a former Lagos governor, the winner of the keenly contested election in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, in Abuja.
Tinubu who is now Nigeria's president-elect won the highest votes in 12 states in the just concluded 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu to meet Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, after his victory
In a new development, President-elect Bola Tinubu has constituted a reconciliation committee to meet with Atiku.
Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state, disclosed this on Wednesday, March 1, adding that elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dominate the reconciliation committee.
Other presidential candidates the committee will meet are Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

In another report, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said he will seek redress in court.
Obi spoke after the declaration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the president-elect.
Reacting to the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obi said he would contest Tinubu’s victory through legal and peaceful means.
2023 presidency: Atiku begins move to stop Tinubu's victory
In a related development, Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just-concluded presidential election, has decided to challenge the results of the poll.
In a statement on Wednesday, March 1, a spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Committee, Dino Melaye, said the party will not relent in its decision to retrieve its mandate that was allegedly stolen.
Describing the victory of President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a grave injustice which will not stand, Melaye called on Nigerians and supporters of the PDP not to be perturbed over recent developments associated with the last general polls.
