2023 Elections: Peter Obi Hits Major Boost as Accord Party Collapses Structure on Election Day

The Accord Party has announced that it will be stepping down its pursuit of the presidential ballot to support the presidential bid of the Labour Party bannerman Peter Obi.
As reported by the Nigerian Tribune, the party decided on the eve of the commencement of the polls on Saturday, February 25.
It was gathered that a letter was issued to that effect by the party's leadership and made available to pressmen on Friday night, February 24.
According to reports, the letter contained the readiness of the party to team up with Peter Obi and the Labour Party.

Legit.ng gathered that the Accord Party pledged to deliver all its strongholds to Peter Obi across all the 774 local governments of the federation.
The party said it is willing to engage in massive mobilisation to strengthen Obi’s presidential bid and promised to deliver five million votes to the Labour Party bannerman across the 36 states of the federation.
The endorsement of Obi by the Accord Party is significant as it brings together two political parties with a long-standing history in Nigerian politics.
The Accord Party was founded in 2006 and has had its candidates serve in legislative positions at the state and federal levels. The party has a strong presence across all the states in Nigeria and has been known to deliver their constituencies at every election.
When contacted, Rev Isaac Adeniyi, the Accord Chairman, also confirmed the development, adding that “we believe Obi has the chance to win this (presidential) election.”

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has continued convincing Nigerians why he should be entrusted with the nation's power.
The Labour Party flagbearer, whose fate would be determined at the poll on Saturday, February 25, has maintained he is not into politics for money.
At a solidarity march in Anambra state, the presidential hopeful reminded Nigerians why they should vote for a corrupt free candidate, a man they can trust with the nation's resources.
Election: Popular Poll Organiser Declares Support for Peter Obi, Gives Reason
In another development, Atedo Peterside, the president of the Anap Foundation, has endorsed Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential flagbearer.
The foundation has conducted three consecutive polls that each predicted the former governor of Anambra as the winner of the forthcoming election.
However, Peterside said his support for Peter Obi has no influence on the credibility of his organisation's polls so far.
