Port Harcourt, Rivers state - The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has paid a visit to the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Tinubu was in Rivers state on Wednesday, February 15, for the APC presidential rally.
The APC flag bearer and his running mate, Kashim Shettima were accompanied by the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu; Governors Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi), Babjide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi).

Others at the meeting include former governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Adams Oshiomhole (Edo) as well as the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva; among others, Channels TV reported.
However, a former Minister of Transportation and ex-governor of Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi was conspicuously absent at the meeting. Also, the APC governorship candidate in Rivers, Tonye Cole was not at the meeting.
Wike, PDP Crisis and the G5 Governors
There have been allegations that Wike has instructed his political allies in Rivers state to work for Tinubu.
Wike who is a member of the G5 of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has not been on good terms with his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The G5 is a group of five aggrieved PDP governors who have been consistent in their demand that Iyorchia Ayu step down as PDP national chairman for a southerner as a precondition for them to support the presidential ambition of Atiku.
2023 elections: G5 Governors not divided, says Wike
In another report, Governor Wike said the G5 is not divided, contrary to several speculations.
According to the governor, the G5 will act based on its plan on February 25, the day of the presidential election,
Wike queried why people are going around with fake news about the G5, wondering why critics are after the downfall of the political group.
