PDP Crisis Worsens as Wike Speaks on Those Plotting to Kill Him, Sends Message to Supporters

Etche LGA, Rivers state - Governor Nyesom Wike has alleged threats to his life amidst the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Rivers state governor, however, said those plotting to kill him will die first before they get to him.
According to The Punch, Wike made the statement on Tuesday, September 6, when he inaugurated a new Faculty of Agriculture for Rivers State University and commissioned the construction of residential blocks for the faculty in Etche local government area of the state.
The governor said he would never bow to any threat or intimidation and would never appeal to anybody. He maintained as well that nobody could buy him over.

Governor Wike says supporters should not be afraid
Speaking further, Governor Wike urged his supporters not to be afraid, saying he is standing strong, Channels TV also reported.
“If you are a Rivers man, you don’t need to be intimidated by anybody…We must take our rightful position. So, nobody should be worried. Intimidating me? Some people tell me, ‘Oh, be careful, they will kill you’. Kill who? Who told you, you will not die first?
“Those of you who are panicking, you don’t need to panic. I have God, what are you afraid of? They have chased us, they fought us but today we are standing very strong."
Wike says some PDP chieftains worked for Buhari in 2019
Meanwhile, Governor Wike also alleged that some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) assisted President Muhammadu Buhari to be re-elected in 2019 by negotiating with him.
The Rivers state governor, who did not name the PDP members, said they approached him to join in the negotiation but he stood his ground to deliver Rivers state for the PDP.
Governor Wike stated further that he would not support any cause that is not beneficial to the people of Rivers state.
