2023: After Mimiko, Peter Obi Beefs Up Strategy, Visits Another Political Capone in Abuja for Collab

FCT, Abuja - An emerging report has confirmed that Labour Party's standard bearer, Peter Obi paid a visit to the former presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kingsley Moghalu, at his Abuja residence.

As reported by Punch newspaper, the latter made this known on Friday, August 12 via a series of tweets on his official Twitter handle @MoghaluKingsley.

Moghalu in his tweet reminisced on how he collaborated with Obi when he was the governor of Anambra state and he was at the time the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

His tweet reads:

“His Excellency @PeterObi paid me a visit yesterday morning at my residence in Abuja. I was very glad to receive him. We discussed the state of the nation and his aspiration to lead our country from 2023.
"I have always enjoyed a warm fraternal relationship with “Okwute”. We collaborated closely when he was Governor of @AnambraStateGov and I, also an Anambra indigene, was Deputy Governor of @cenbank."

In his tweet, Moghalu described Obi as one who is keen on education stating that during his time in CBN he was able to help facilitate a corporate social responsibility investment of N1 billion for the Anambra State University.

He further stated that Obi's antecedents and his frequent campaign and love for the youths are enough traits to consider Obi for the presidential seat in Aso Rock.

Meanwhile, Obi also replicated the gesture after rolling out his own tweet on Friday, August 12.

As seen by Legit.ng on his verified 1.7 million followers Twitter page @PeterObi said:

"Yesterday, I spent some valuable time with my brother and friend Moghalu Kingsley and his lovely family.
"During my visit to him, we discussed some issues that are germane to national interest and nation-building."

In his tweet, Obi described the submissions of Moghalu as that which is lucid, concrete, and constructive.

He, however, hinted that he will be looking towards collaborating with the economic and money experts in his future endeavors as he has done in the past.

Obi on Thursday, August 11 was said to have visited the ex-governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Memiko who was also a one time member of the Labour Party when he was governor before decamping to the PDP.

Meanwhile, Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state, has said he would be fine if either Tinubu or Peter Obi wins the 2023 elections, as long as the presidency comes to the South.

The governor said there is an understanding to rotate the presidency between northern Nigeria and southern Nigeria since 1999.

Akeredolu added that religion is not an issue in the 2023 election, but other killing issues are restructuring and rotational presidency, among others.
