Tinubu Curses Obi’s Supporters? ‘God Won’t Make You Labourers’
- The supporters of Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi and others have been warned against labouring in vain
- This was the position of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu while reacting to the aspirations of Peter Obi and Abubakar Atiku
- Tinubu said this while campaigning for the reelection of Gboyega Oyetola in Oshogbo, Osun state capital
In what could be a veiled reference to Peter Obi, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, and his supporters, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu lashed out at the opposition party on Tuesday.
Obi’s supporters known as Obidients comprise young persons who have been campaigning vigorously, particularly on social media.
Ahead of Saturday governorship election, Tinubu and APC bigwigs held a mega rally in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
Speaking at the rally, Tinubu, who is Presidential Candidate of the APC, described opposition parties as “mushroom parties”.

He told Osun electorate to do what was done in Ekiti, where the APC’s Abiodun Oyebanji won last month’s election
“I ask you to please do the same thing you did in Ekiti. Come out with your PVCs and vote massively for APC. The vote is in your hand. Be very vigilant. Be watchful. You will not do it in vain.”
“Think about your children and vote accordingly so you can see the future. Come out en masse. Don’t mind PDP and other mushroom parties; they will labour till they die. God will not make you labourers
“You’re next. We will be here till tomorrow. We will come back here for victory dance. Look at the trajectory of our lives. We make promises and fulfil them. We are the ones upholding the party, the Buhari party. Don’t answer the naysayers.”
Peter Obi: Young girl donates her savings to Labour Party presidential candidate's campaign
Meanwhile, a young Nigerian girl, Covenant Onyebuchi on Tuesday, July 12 donated her savings to the campaign of Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Obi who was in Enugu for a live interview on a radio station was accosted by the girl while he was about departing.
The video of the girl presenting the money to Obi has gone viral on social media. While donating the money to Obi's campaign, Covenant said:
“I have been trying to save up money, so I prayed yesterday and I said I wanted to see a humble man, and God answered my prayers.
