All Igbo Contesting Presidency Are Only Eyeing VP Slot, MASSOB Leader Claims

Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) says 2023 aspirants from the southeast are not serious.

According to him, many of them are secretly aspiring for the vice presidential slot.

The MASSOB leader said this following the backlash that trailed his support for the presidential ambition of Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello.

He insisted that as an adult he has the fundamental right to support whoever he wants.

Uwazuruike said:

“No Igbo man is contesting for the presidency. All these people you are seeing are pretenders. They can’t come to me because they know that I know them. No Igbo man. I repeat is contesting for the president. Let them swear, all of them, that they are not going to the North to lobby for vice president.
“People have called me from the North telling me that all those clamouring to be president are the ones seeking to be vice presidents. I laughed because I know them. None of these people you are supporting today are serious. They are all looking for vice president; all of them, from A to Z, I challenge them. They are pretenders. They can fool you but they can’t fool me.”

I support IPOB’s agitation - Wike says there is injustice against the southeast

Meanwhile, Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared his support for the agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). However, the governor said he is against the violent activities linked to the group.

The governor said there was a time Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB’s leader, was singing his praises over his support for the group’s agitation.

According to him, his problem with IPOB started when they allegedly came to Rivers to set ablaze government properties and force their membership on the residents of Rivers.

IPOB are poorly educated children, not terrorists, says Rochas Okorocha

In another development, Senator Rochas Okorocha declared that members of IPOB are poorly educated children in the southeast.

Okorocha made the comment in response to the crisis situation in the southeast triggered by agitations.

The senator representing Imo West Senatorial District said the issues bore down to bad leadership in the region, especially in his home state of Imo.
