Insecurity: Criminals in Army Uniform Kidnap 7 Wedding Guests in Ogun, Demand N60m Ransom

- The victims attended a wedding in Ibadan, Oyo state, on Saturday, and were returning to their base in Lagos state when they were kidnapped

In another big tragedy for Nigeria, some armed hoodlums have kidnapped seven wedding guests at the Isara, Ogun state end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The criminals were reportedly dressed in army uniform during the operation.
Punch Newspaper reports that the victims attended a wedding in Ibadan, Oyo state, on Saturday, January 15, and were returning to their base in Lagos state on Sunday, when one of the vehicles conveying them to their destinations broke down on the road.
According to one of the victims, Folahan Akinsola, they were attempting to tow the faulty vehicle when the kidnappers struck. He added that the criminals were dressed in Army uniform when they struck.

He said:
“The kidnappers were all dressed in Army uniform and commanded us to enter the bush. They were more than four, as there were some of them inside the bush. They took some personal belongings and set some of us free.
“I was part of the people that were released and we were told to go and raise N15m to secure the release of each of the remaining four victims. So, we are to raise N60m and that is why we are seeking help from Nigerians as these kidnappers said they will waste them if they don’t get the money.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Forces (NAF) Special Forces (SF) on Thursday, January 12, rescued 26 kidnapped victims while on a fighting patrol along Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Road.
This was made known by NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwe in a statement made available to Legit.ng on Wednesday, January 12.
The victims were suspected to have been kidnapped by bandits while traveling from Birnin Gwari to various locations including Kaduna, Minna and Kano.
