2023: 600 women groups converge on Abuja for Bello’s presidential bid

Governor Yahaya Bello deserves to be the president of Nigeria according to about 600 Women groups.

The groups are from different parts of the country and will converge on Abuja, the nation’s capital, for a solidarity walk for Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Punch Newspaper reports.

The solidarity walk is tagged, “One Million Women March for GYB.’’

Under the auspices of Women United For Yahaya Bello, the women groups, including Non-Governmental Organisations, civil society organisations, religious, professional bodies, women in media, politics, market women and top women entrepreneurs, among others, will join the walk to drum support for the governor’s presidential ambition.

In a statement issued by the Global Coordinator of WUYABEL, Dr Hanatu Adeeko, the gathering will be the first of its kind “especially now that the political stage is almost set.’’

Ádeeko said:

“This will be the first in a long while that women on their own will come together in their numbers to speak with one voice. We are coming to Abuja to demand that the status quo must be changed. This is the time for us to yield power to younger people, especially those who have given a good account of themselves in other places they’ve rendered service.”

Ahead of the 2023 elections, Governor Yahaya Bello has said Nigeria is waiting for young people to steer the country towards the dreams of its founding fathers.

In another report, a secondary school boy who drew a fine portrait of Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has a reason to smile as his talent has been rewarded handsomely.

Oluwa Mayowa, who schools in Lagos was invited over to the governor's office within two weeks of his artwork going viral.

In emerging photos shared by @goldmynetv on Instagram, Yahaya Bello appreciated the lad by placing him on a lifetime scholarship.

Legit.ng gathered that the governor was first impressed after stumbling upon the artwork on social media platform Instagram.
